Performing Opportunities

We love to perform and do so at every opportunity, whether it be professionally, in the West End Theatre, on screen, at charity events or at our monthly Open Mic Nights. All of these take place at our 150 seater Theatre, run by our professional, in-house production team using state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. Through each performance pupils grow in confidence, develop their skills and create memories that last forever.

Monthly open mic nights

A fun filled night bursting with talent! Our open mic nights give pupils the opportunity to perform a song or dance of their choice in our inhouse theatre. The evenings are also a great platform for students to showcase songs that they have written and for those interested in presenting to compare in front of a live audience. Former graduates often return to this event to support current students and perform live on stage.

Annual Dance Show

The annual dance showcase, is an enjoyable and fun filled evening of creativity, individual and group pieces. Pupils showcase their own choreography, GCSE dance pieces and choreography they have worked on in our after school dance company.

Annual Christmas Show

Our Christmas show is an exciting festive production organised by the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School. The show is part of Barnet Christmas Fayre, which attracts over 17,000 people onto our local high street. During this festive performance, pupils understand the importance of their training in bringing joy and hope to the wider community.

Annual Christmas Professional Panto

Every year students are given the option of auditioning for our annual Christmas panto. Our Christmas Panto is an enjoyable experience that gives pupils the opportunity to showcase their SETS training on the professional stage, work alongside industry professionals and members of the community. Past panto’s have included Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin and Alice in Wonderland.

End of year Show

The Susi Earnshaw Theatre School End of year show is a highlight of the year for many of our pupils. Through the educational and inspiring rehearsal period, pupils grow as performers, develop a strong work ethic and create life long memories. This occurs at the end of our school year and provides a platform for pupils to reflect, showcase their hard work and shine.

Recent and Past Performing Opportunities include

London New Year’s Day Parade

The New Years day parade is a fun filled day bursting with energy, creativity and life! In the last four years in which the event has occurred, our school has represented the borough of Barnet by performing in front of around half a million people in the parade showcase. We are proud to announce that during this period our school has won £24,000 for our Mayor’s local charities. This has included charities such as, Homeless Action Barnet, Noah’s Ark Hospice and Dementia Club UK.

Acting/Film

We love to support all pupils in their aspirations, whether this may be on stage, on the screen or behind the scenes. In recent years Susi Earnshaw Theatre school pupils entered the Cut Film National Awards ceremony for film making and won the ‘Judges Choice’ and the ‘winner of 15-17’ year olds awards. Prizes were presented to the students at BAFTA by award winning film director David Yates (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt1 and 2) and comedian Jack Whitehall.

Intergenerational Dance Festival

The Intergenerational Dance Festival is a joyous, uplifting and inspirational evening of dance across the ages.
